Photography : Taking pictures of and pictures about . . .

As a youngster I loved my camera. I started with my Mum's Kodak Instamatic 133 and moved on to my own smaller 110 varient which was a present for my 12th birthday.
What I loved about photography as a teenager was that it could perfectly capture what I saw in front of me. It would often be weeks later that I got round to finishing my film and sending it off to TruPrint. A week later they would be back through the letter box. Some were out of focus, a few too dark, some a bit light... but when everything came together it was magic, a perfect representation of what I'd seen all those weeks ago.
For many years I loved the way that photography allowed me to capture pictures of almost anything I could see. Once I started earning some pocket money I saved and bought an Olympus OM 10 with the standard 50mm lens. I paid extra to buy the manual adapter which allowed the setting of the shutter speed rather than being limited to control of ISO and aperture.
