London Streets : The Monopoly Project
10th Anniversary Remaster
I started the "London Streets : The Monopoly Project" in early 2016. It was my first photographic project. It taught me about photographic projects; beginnings, middles and ends. It showed me that projects give you space. Space to expand, to show more and even to add words and details that would be out of space with a single image. But above all it taught me that to be interesting (both to me and others) a project needs a purpose, some reason to create, something worth devoting your time and effort to, something worth telling stories about.
A project is very different to a single image, or even a collection of images and the core of that difference is purpose. Maybe the purpose is the story you want to tell, perhaps a moments you need to capture, or the lesson you need to learn.
This project had it all and in this 10th Anniversary Remaster I have had the time to think about the project. To be realistic about what I learned; what worked well and maybe what I could have done better (mych better).
So here we are, the full project from beginning to end. The photos, the words, the locations and the stories.
Enjoy, and if you really enjoy the project why not buy the remastered book.
Just 100 copies are available of these beautifully printed hardbacked books.
Over 100 pages, 120 images mostly shown as triptychs.
